Somebody stole eternity – and it’s killing us.

Here’s a clip of what those going to New Word Alive in sunny Prestatyn later this year have to look forward to.  It’s Paul Tripp, one of the main speakers at this years conference, talking about eternity and how we all live as though we don’t believe in it.  The clip is taken from a DVD of a book entitled Forever: Why you can’t live without it.

So try not to focus on the moustache too much and enjoy.

For those of you who like John Piper and have an iPad or  iPhone  you can now download the new Desiring God App for all things iPiper.  The App includes blog posts, audio, video and books and looks really well produced.

They also state somewhere that there will be a version available  for Android if there is enough interest shown.

WWDD?

It seems that the ruling to ban formal council prayers will be overturned within a week.  But there is a danger in Christians merely looking to Eric Pickles and Baroness Warsi to come to our rescue.

Regarding the ruling over the Bideford Council perhaps we need to ask ourselves ‘What would Daniel Do?’

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. – Daniel 6:10

Dangerous children in an R rated world

The world is rated R, and no one is checking IDs. Do not try to make it G by imagining the shadows away. Do not try to hide your children from the world forever, but do not pretend there is no danger. Train them. Give them
sharp eyes and bellies full of laughter. Make them dangerous. Make them yeast, and when they’ve grown, they will pollute the shadows.
